Catholic Prayers

Most people think that Catholic prayers are not in scripture or just made up, which is not bad. However, where do we get our prayers from? Some from the bible, some from inspired Pope's, some from visions of saints that were told a certain prayer to pray and how to pray it. We will go through some of those prayers right now.

Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be they name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Now let's look at where we as Catholics get this prayer from.

Matthew 6:9-13= "This is how you are to pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, (10) your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. (11) Give us today our daily bread; and forgive us our debtors; and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thy. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary mother of God, pray for our sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen
Now let's look at where we got this prayer from.

Luke 1:28= And coming to her he said, "Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you." This is the, Hail Mary full of grace. In Greek this is translated as, Hail Mary, perfected by grace. The Lord is with you.
Luke 1:42= cried out in a loud voice and she said, "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb
The last part, Holy Mary mother of God, pray for our sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Mary is called the Mother of God in Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:43, Luke 1:35.
. This is the next part. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is thy womb Jesus.

Fatima Prayer: This prayer was given to us by Our Lady of Fatima. "Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especial those in most need of thy mercy."

St. Michael Prayer: This prayer was given to us by Pope Leo XIII. A prayer against Satan, calling for Saint Michael to protect us from evil. "Saint Michael the archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou. Oh prince of the heavenly host, by the divine power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen"
